Happy Disability Pride Month

July is disability pride month. It was on the 26th July 1990 when the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) was passed. This was a pivotal milestone for disability rights.
Australia followed suit creating our Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) in 1992

Inclusion Artist

Artist Ravyn of Soda Straw (exhibiting at Supanova Sydney) has created her own artwork including a very cute Kawaii mouse with rainbow hair in a rainbow wheelchair. I love finding inclusion and representation of people with disabilities in art, and this has to be the cutest!

Accessibility Tip

Did you know that on an Android phone you can set a high contrast keyboard? Whether you need it because you are in bright light or because you are reading late at night and you are tired.
You can get rid of the boring old black on white and have fun black on yellow.
Go to:
Settings > Accessibility > Vision Enhancements > High contrast keyboard

Composite showing android settings location for "High contrast keyboard" and bottom shows and example of the on screen keyboard
